This is despicable! This is deplorable. This is disgraceful. This is dangerous.

Republicans have, for decades, tried to make a connection between homosexuality, transgenders and sexual assault. When in fact, according to RAINN, 59% of child sexual assault is committed by acquaintances, primarily authority figures and, overwhelmingly white men, people in a position of power.

The next tier of child predators are family members 34% of the victims, while only7% are strangers.

The Catholic Church has had over 11,000 confirmed cases of child sexual assault.

The crimes usually occur in residences of the assailant or in institutions such as churches, schools, daycare, and work facilities.

What these Republican, and 2 Democratic lawmakers in West Virginia have done is open a legal avenue for sexual predators to conduct their horrendous crimes. By allowing people in positions of authority (sound familiar) or places of power to visually check the genitalia of a suspected transgender or nonbinary child, it gives these predators a reason and a place to conduct this abuse.

The consequences of this are exponential! This demonization of the LGBTQ community has endangered the safety of children across America, because you know that once one state passes a bill like this, other red states will follow suit.
